Both our Centres have age appropriate educational programs based on the new Early Years Learning Framework and addressing the new National Quality Framework. The educational programs are designed and adapted as needed to meet the varying developmental needs of the children, thus allowing every child to develop at their own pace and to reach their full potential. Children learn best through active participation in real life experiences. Children also learn best when they experience success in whatever they are doing. The programs are structured, yet flexible as we endeavour to provide a warm, relaxed and safe environment in which all of our children can learn and grow to their full potential.
All rooms have their individual daily routine. This is clearly displayed on the noticeboard and includes morning, lunch and afternoon tea times, group times and free play.
Pre School conducts a curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework and is conducted by Qualified Child Care Educators. Our Preschool room caters for children from 3 years 8 months prior to using our Kindergarten and Kindergarten children who attend an external Kindy but still require Child Care days.
The Pre School room offers a wide range of experiences building firm foundations for the next step in your child’s journey. Children engage in the Jolly Phonics program and highlight number/shape/colour and name recognition through play based experiences.
We pride ourselves on incorporating sustainable practices daily with the children using a small green steps program to highlight composting, use of our water tank, worm farming and growing fruit and vegetables. We also encourage the use of natural and recycled resources in our collage and art areas.
Our curriculum is extended with regular visits from community groups and role models such as members of the police/fire and ambulance services as well as cultural groups, musicians, dance classes and puppet/drama productions.
Pre School works in partnership with our Kindergarten to maintain consistency for children who utilise both rooms.
